The 7th Artistry is a theatre company of, for, and by students. Teenagers who are passionate about all aspects of theatre are invested in the company. They work tirelessly to create professional grade theatre and become an integral part of the Indianapolis theatre community.
Beck Jones and Fiona Dwyer first met through Young Actors Theatre, acting opposite each other. The two continued together to Herron High School, where, in their freshman year, they directed a short scene together for the Herron Arts Festival. That summer, they expanded on that scene and built it into a full show. They proceeded to form a theatre company intent on producing eight plays based on classic fairy tales before they begin their college careers.
Beck began his theatrical journey as an actor. Soon, however, he discovered that his interest andtalent lay with costuming, which he began to seriously study in seventh grade. Since then, he has costumed dozens of shows, not including several independent projects and experiments. His costumes have been featured on WFYI, Pattern Magazine, YoungArts 2017 and are generally acclaimed across the city. Beck is now a senior in high school and hopes to continue to study costume design in college and enter the field as a professional costumer. He designs and creates all the costumes and lights for The 7th Artistry, as well as acting in conjunction with Fiona Dwyer as director, sound designer, and choreographer.
Fiona first began to explore playwriting in her seventh grade year, after acting for several years prior to that. She has continued to study the two simultaneously over the years, now adding directing to the mix. Her scripts have been produced by Young Actors Theatre and Herron High School, awarded by Q Artistry, and been semi-finalists in Indiana Repertory Theatre's Young Playwrights in Process competition. Fiona is a senior in high school and hopes to study theatre in college, focusing on either acting, directing, or playwriting. She writes all the scripts for The 7th Artistry, as well as acting in conjunction with Beck Jones as director, sound designer, and choreographer.
